How Best Seats and Lowest Price works

Using a Focal Point, the system automatically identifies the primary point of interest within a venue, enabling accurate “Best Seats” and “Lowest Price” seat selection.

Available for Reserved Seat and clickable General Admission sections. *if your event is entirely General Admission, no Focal Point is required.

Best Seats allows you to offer the best seats to your users automatically, skipping the process of manual selection. The user is still able to to pick different seats afterwards if they prefer.

Lowest Price displays the lowest price.

What is a Focal Point?

The best seats are considered those closest to the Focal Point.

  • In a concert/theatre setting, the focal point is typically centre stage

  • In a sporting event, it is generally the centre of the field or ground

This ensures seat recommendations are consistent with what delivers the best viewing experience for each event type.

Setting the Focal Point

The Focal Point is configured at two levels:

  • Organisation level: set during seat map setup by your INTIX representative
  • Event level: can be adjusted only while the event is in draft mode

Once an event is published/live, the focal point cannot be changed.

If a correction is required after launch, a new event must be created with the correct focal point applied.

Seat Map Setup Requirements

  • The Focal Point must be defined when creating the seating map at Organisation level
  • It can be adjusted at Event level only while in draft
  • Once live, it cannot be modified

If a seating section is split by:

  • Stairs
  • Aisles
  • Physical gaps

Sections therefore must be defined as separate in the system (ie. Section 5A and Section 5B).

The platform does not detect physical venue gaps. If sections are incorrectly merged:

  • The system assumes all seats are connected
  • Seat grouping may be incorrect
  • Customers may be seated in non-adjacent or physically separated areas

When No Focal Point Is Set

  • The Best Seats / Lowest Price views may display a mixed combination of GA and reserved seating results

  • Ranking will be less accurate as spatial relevance cannot be calculated correctly

How 'Best Seats' & 'Lowest Price' works for the user: (customer)

The default view is Best Seats, with users being able to switch between Lowest Price and Best Seats.

For General Admission:

  • Hovering over the price options in the list highlights the relevant section on the map and displays pricing

For Reserved Seating:

  • Default selection is 3 tickets
  • Users can purchase up to 8 tickets in one transaction (configurable via Tickets > Settings)
  • The system automatically selects adjacent seats in the same row and section at the same price point
  • Users can still manually change seat selections if desired
  • Users can update the seating price point that has been offered ie. Family, Concession and/or Child.
