Unpaid Orders in Reserved Seat Memberships

Unpaid orders are useful to hold allocated membership seats for your customers to purchase, or roll over memberships from the previous year.

You assign seats to a customer and they receive notification that there is an unpaid order in their account that they simply need to log into the membership dashboard and pay. It is easy, and fewer obstacles in the purchase path encourages conversion to sales!

Creating an Unpaid Order in Memberships:

  1. Log into your account > Organisation Settings
  2. Seating Maps > select "Manage"

Select seat(s) to assign:

Select the price option (ie Adult, Concession, Child):

Enter email address of recipient, click Next.

Select Payment Method: "Unpaid Order", select Submit

You can choose whether to automatically notify the customer of this order, or not, if you are planning another form of communication (ie. email campaign).

Your customer receives a notification email with a link to manage their membership.

They will log into the Membership Dashboard:

There is the notification of the Unpaid Order at the top of the page.

Each membership appears separately:

This is just in case they don't want all of the seats that have been allotted to them. They can pay for the one(s) they want and let you know to cancel any unwanted membership seats.

NOTES:

  • You can cancel an unpaid order at any time: Go to Members, search by email or last name. You will see the status as "Unpaid". Select the eye icon to view the Unpaid Order, scroll down and select Cancel Membership. Confirm Cancellation.
  • Custom Questions: Unfortunately, your customer doesn’t go through the checkout process with Unpaid Orders as they are paying from within their account. You will need to source the answers to any custom questions independently, and then use the edit function within the order to input the information manually once they have confirmed their purchase.

TIP:

Give customers a deadline for payment. The seats will remain on hold for that customer until they pay the outstanding order. After the deadline, go through the Members list and cancel all pending orders to release them to the public.
